Character’s Name: Elena

Character’s Fandom: FF7

Character’s History: Born into the normal nuclear family, Elena lived in the looming shadow of her older sister. The constant praise over her sibling’s grades and achievements left the younger daughter to resent her and yet crave to be like her, springing forth the doubts of her own self-worth at an early age. She worked harder, stronger, studied for hours at a time, but what triumphs came after such battles for her, flowed simply and smoothly for her sister, creating an even wider divide.
When Elena was a teenager, she watched her sister join the Turks and succeed in the organization as she did in life, spurring a jealousy for the group as well. Her parents vocally fretted over every dinner, ignoring the accomplishments Elena brought home each night, ignoring her all together until she felt like a ghost residing among the living.
Time smoothed over wounds, and it was only after her sister disappeared, no record being disclosed to her, no notice other than the official Shinra letterhead with a generically written letter stating such, that Elena knew where her answers were hidden. Determined to uncover the truth, she worked her way into Shinra, and beyond that, into the Turks. Refusing to tell anyone of her desire for a truth and solution, she keeps her secrets close to her heart in fear of anyone dangling them in front of her like a carrot, attempting to lead her astray.
As years worked over the old scars of rejection, it set things to right here as well. Though craving the truth of what had happened to her older sibling, she has also found a new family in the Turks and of Shinra. Constantly attempting to show the assets of herself, at times both failing and succeeding, she found herself seeking the approval of the brotherhood around her. This had taken her many places, including to the crater and into the hands of cruelty over the search for an alien …artifact, shall we say? But through that came strength, devotion, and duty, up until the moment when she watched her president fall off the collapsing building. And with that there was a moment of joy knowing that she fulfilled her obligations and duty with the net gun, opposite of the director.

Character’s Personality: Personally sweet, Elena is flustered with affections, finding herself worried that she is either being made a mockery of, or that she will become a mockery from them. Easy to blush, she finds compliments difficult to digest and is nervous when in the center of the spotlight. She prefers support roles, something comfortable and easy to mask the secret insecurities she harbors behind brown eyes.
She believes whole-heartedly in her work, and takes it very seriously; it’s the crutch of her life, and she proves it with her undying loyalty. Her personal space is rarely cluttered, primarily and painstakingly organized to the point of barely ever witnessing one thing out of place (a grand sight indeed if one can catch it); when it does occur, there are moments of stressful breathing and flaring nostrils. Determined and steadfast on the job, she spends much of her free time trying to hone her skills and discipline for her work at the gym and firing range. She lives to prove herself and her worth to both her co-workers and employers.
With strong moral values and convictions, she goes to work each day with the knowledge that she is making a difference, however small. And that alone allows her to sleep easy at night.
